Dear Friends,
As a dedicated supporter of Action-PSJ, you understand our vital role in assisting vulnerable elderly populations in Ukraine. Your partnership has never been more important in these challenging times.
Together with our network of colleagues on the ground in Ukraine, we are working tirelessly to ensure the resilience, resistance, and hope of those we serve.
As Russian aggression against Ukraine continues to escalate, communities like Dnipro, Pavlograd, and Kryvyi Rih have suffered direct missile attacks, resulting in destroyed buildings, serious injuries, and tragic deaths.
Our elders are experiencing daily anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty as their homes shake from explosions and their community members are displaced. The unpredictable blackouts and rising inflation only add to their distress, causing hope to dwindle and resistance to fade.
Chia, one of our dedicated volunteer board members for Action for Ukraine, shared a poignant story:
“My grandparents were held in work camps during the Holocaust. They credit their survival to the efforts of Jews and others from outside the camps—people they did not know and would never meet—who worked together to smuggle food and other support inside. My grandparents’ survival depended on this anonymous help.
This support provided life-saving sustenance and gave them hope that they were not forgotten, that there was a community to return to, and that the Jewish community and beyond cared for them.”
Our elders experience similar isolation and disconnection from the global world. They wonder if anyone outside of Ukraine cares or understands the immense hardships they endure.
When they receive a stipend, care package, or telehealth consultation made possible by your generosity, they feel embraced, knowing their struggles are seen, and the outside world cares.
This year has been particularly challenging, and we have struggled to provide the robust support our elders need. Yet, despite the many challenges in the world today, we are grateful for people like you who care deeply.
As we approach the end of our fiscal year on June 30th, we urgently need your support to raise $50,000. Please consider contributing today if you still need to donate in this fiscal year. Your financial support is crucial to ensuring our elders in Ukraine continue to receive the care they need amid increasing Russian aggression.
If you have already donated, THANK YOU! If you can make another donation to help us reach our year-end goal, please do. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is meaningful and deeply appreciated.
With gratitude,
Executive Director, Action-PSJ
Chair, Action for Ukraine
P.S. Your support truly makes a difference. Please donate today to help us continue our critical work. Thank you!
