Dear Friends,
Today marks 1,000 days since the war began on February 24, 2022.
I want to share the story of Mila K., an elderly woman living alone in one of the smaller Ukrainian communities we serve. Like so many others, she never imagined her life would become a relentless cycle of surviving missile attacks, enduring freezing nights without heat, and facing long, isolating blackouts.
The anxiety of each day weighs heavily on her. Food shortages and health issues only deepen her struggle, but thanks to your generosity, Mila has a lifeline.
Through your support, we’ve provided Mila and others like her with telehealth services, art therapy to ease trauma, and microgrants that empower them to purchase what they most need—specialized food, critical medicine, warm clothing, or heating. Each humanitarian aid package ensures the basic necessities to live with dignity.
With every passing day, the needs grow more urgent. Increased missile strikes, harsher winters, and deepening isolation demand an immediate response. Imagine Mila as your grandmother or a cherished neighbor—alone, facing unimaginable challenges, but holding on because someone cared enough to help.
Every dollar you give is thoughtfully allocated to provide the aid and empowerment that changes lives. These packets of light—hope that breaks through walls of isolation—remind Mila and others like her that they are not alone.
Your support can deliver the light our elders desperately need. Please, don’t wait—be the hope they’re waiting for.
