Dear Friends,
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you! We’ve recently made significant updates to the ACTION-PSJ website, particularly our resource page, and I’m personally inviting you to join us for the inaugural webinar of the Soviet Jewry Movement Archives Project (SJMAP).
Given the current events,, it’s remarkable to observe how history seems to echo or intersect with the present. The resilience of grassroots initiatives and the interconnectedness of political dissidents across time underscore the enduring relevance of understanding our collective past.
From grassroots movements like Bring Them Home Now drawing inspiration from the Soviet Jewry movement to the remarkable parallels between political dissidents across different eras, Alexei Navalny and Natan Sharansky. it’s clear that understanding our shared history is more important than ever.
The timeline, which will eventually be uploaded to a user-friendly timeline app, was crafted over two summers by two exceptional interns, guided by a mentor historian. This innovative internship approach, involving a respected industry professional serving as a consultant to mentor interns, received partial funding from CJP.
We look forward to your presence at the webinar and encourage you to explore the enriching content offered on the updated ACTION-PSJ website.
