Dear Friends,
I am writing to express my immense pride and awe at the strength displayed by the Jewish communities in Ukraine during the ongoing savage Russian invasion. Despite the danger and destruction surrounding them, Action-PSJ’s local volunteer coordinators continue to assist their elderly neighbors. The humanitarian aid provided by Action-PSJ has been truly life-changing for the elderly Jews and vulnerable people we serve.
The situation for elder Ukrainians has become dire, and I urge you to consider the following statistics:
91% require aid for food, heat, and other necessities. *
75% need basic hygiene supplies. *
34% lack urgently needed medications for chronic conditions. *
96% are experiencing conflict-related mental health issues. **
Your support of Action-PSJ is critically essential in this time of need.
Donating to our organization provides elderly Jews with a lifeline of shelf-stable food specific to their dietary needs. Your contributions help relieve unimaginable pain and suffering by enabling us to deliver first aid and essential medicines. Additionally, your support allows us to purchase heaters, blankets, lamps, and USB chargers, providing a bearable living environment for older individuals during wartime.
At Action-PSJ, we ensure that every person we help receives aid tailored to their specific needs. Our goal extends beyond mere survival; we strive to help the vulnerable live with dignity.
While your support has already accomplished a great deal, there is still much more to do. The health and mental health crisis in Ukraine is escalating, and we are taking action. We recently signed a contract with the esteemed Jewish Medical Center in Dnipro to pilot a groundbreaking telehealth program starting on July 1.
Furthermore, we are developing an innovative art therapy program this summer to assist our neighborhood volunteer coordinators and the elderly they serve in coping with the anxiety, stress, and trauma of daily life during the Russian invasion. These unique services will significantly improve access to medical and psychological healthcare.
Donating to Action-PSJ today can make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
Your contribution strengthens our financial resources as we approach the end of our fiscal year and plan for the future. Your support ensures that we have the necessary resources to meet the ever-growing needs of Ukraine’s Jewish communities.
Every day, as the attacks persist, the needs grow. I implore you to donate to Action-PSJ today and help improve the lives of elderly, displaced, vulnerable, and disabled members of Ukraine’s Jewish communities during these troubled times.
We have achieved so much together, but as the war rages on, there is still much work to be done. Your support is immensely appreciated.
Warm regards,
Debbie Kardon
Executive Director
