One heart, many chambers.
We stand with Ukraine and Israel.<\/strong>

In these challenging times, our hearts at Action-PSJ in the US and Action for Ukraine in Ukraine go out to Israel’s brave and resilient people who are facing unfathomable heartbreak. We share a profound connection with Israel, and as the crisis unfolds, it’s evident that “business as usual” is no longer an option. We all have family, friends, and colleagues in Israel, and we are worried, horrified, and heartbroken. We have held these emotions since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. We are now entangled in not one but two history-making, unprecedented, and horrific wars. The long-term consequences of these wars will shape the course of events for years to come.<\/strong>

Some immediate thoughts and actions<\/strong>:\u00a0

In February 2022, as an organization, \u00a0we understood the need to swiftly adapt to the evolving and unpredictable demands imposed by the ever-changing landscape of war. We have experience pivoting quickly to meet unforeseen, unexpected, and changing needs arising from the volatile nature of war.\u00a0We offer our support to colleagues and organizations that are currently involved in similar efforts for Israel.<\/strong>

Our hearts ache for the Ukrainians who have fled their war-torn communities seeking safety in Israel, only to find themselves caught amid another conflict. The emotional and physical toll these individuals endure is unimaginable. <\/strong>The resilience of these refugees, facing war on multiple fronts, is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. We are in touch with our coordinators from Melitopol\u00a0and\u00a0Mariupol,\u00a0who are in contact with their clients who are now in Israel. We will monitor this problematic situation and address any needs that arise.\u00a0

We are providing extra assistance to our people in Ukraine, especially our elderly clients. They are currently dealing with the emotional burden of both the distressing reports of war crimes committed by the terrorist organization Hamas against innocent civilians in Israel and their own traumatic experiences from the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>

Additionally, a few of our coordinators in Ukraine have children and grandchildren serving in the IDF. We will send support and care packages to them and their units when we can.\u00a0

We are one extended Jewish family, and our hearts are with our people in Israel and Ukraine as we stand in solidarity with both.\u00a0<\/strong>

Together, we will navigate these unprecedented circumstances and continue positively impacting the lives of those in need.\u00a0
